How the random choice wheel works
The random choice wheel helps with small decisions when several possibilities should have an equal chance. You can draw names for an order, choose a destination, pick between meal ideas or assign a task. Every non-empty line is treated as a separate entry. When you select “Spin the wheel”, the tool picks exactly one item and also presents the result as text. The movement is only a visual aid, so the result remains clear to people using assistive technology.
Prepare entries and make a draw
Put every option on a new line. Blank lines are ignored, and spaces at the beginning or end are removed. You can use between two and 100 entries. Check the list below the wheel, then start the selection. “Reset” restores the example values. The controls work with a mouse, a keyboard and on mobile devices.
How random is the selection?
The tool uses the browser’s cryptographic random function and avoids a mathematical bias towards particular list positions. Every entry in the list therefore has the same chance. If identical text appears more than once, each occurrence counts separately and deliberately increases the probability of that option.
Selection without repetition
Enable “Remove the selected entry after the round” if each option should be drawn no more than once. Only the selected occurrence is removed from the visible list. Automatic removal stops when two entries remain so another valid round is still possible. You can edit the list manually or restore it completely at any time.
Do the entries remain private?
Yes. Inputs and results are processed only inside the open browser window. There is no upload, user account or permanent local storage. Changes disappear when you reload or close the page. Even so, enter confidential information only on a device you trust.
What is this tool not intended for?
This wheel is an everyday helper, not an audited drawing system. Do not use it for regulated lotteries, prize draws with legal requirements, financial decisions or situations that require an officially verifiable selection. Those uses may require additional documentation, security controls and legal safeguards.
