What is a time difference?

A time difference is the elapsed time between two points in time – measured in days, hours, minutes and seconds.

How is the time between two points calculated?

The calculator combines date and time into timestamps and computes the difference between both points.

Can the calculator handle periods spanning multiple days?

Yes. Month, year and leap year boundaries are handled correctly.

Are seconds included?

Optionally. Without activation, seconds are treated as 00.

How are daylight saving time changes handled?

Calculation uses the configured timezone (default Europe/Berlin) and correctly accounts for DST transitions.

What happens if the end time is before the start time?

An error message is shown. Inputs are not swapped automatically.
